Overcoming Integration and Transactional Hurdles
Introduction
Our client stands as a leading financial institution in Hungary, offering a comprehensive suite of financial services to its clientele, encompassing banking, investment products, and online banking solutions.
The Story
The Card Management System (CMS) support module emerged as a pivotal element within a broader initiative aimed at establishing a modernized platform for managing account services. Tailored to streamline debit card applications, this module represented a significant leap forward in realizing a new card payment system.
The Challenge
During the development process, numerous challenges were encountered.
Integration Complexity: harmonizing diverse modules within the platform presented challenges spanning backend and frontend integration.
Database Migration: overcoming the intricacies of migrating from an outdated SQL-based system, predominantly reliant on stored procedures, while preserving the existing database architecture.
Transactional Constraints: addressing the inability to execute operations transactionally for integrations not leveraging Java Message Service (JMS).
The Results
As a result of almost six months of collaboration, a unified platform was put in place, on which development time could be reduced.
Unified UI Platform: implementing a unified platform at the UI level fostered a micro-frontend environment, streamlining development processes.
Operation Sequencing: prioritizing operations amenable to reversal bolstered transactional integrity.
Redundant Parameter Validation: deploying redundant parameter validation mechanisms across frontend and backend layers ensured data integrity.
