Introduction

Our client was a global leader in cybersecurity technology, employing around 1,000 professionals. Their client base included major organizations such as IBM, Generali, US Bank, P&V, and Raiffeisen. The company specialized in identity verification, transaction signing, authentication, mobile security, streamlined e-signature workflows, and secure video collaboration for virtual transactions.

The Story

The company’s primary focus was on enabling secure high-value transactions through user-friendly Digipass hardware authenticators and two-factor authentication, with particular emphasis on its configuration software. The proprietary Digipass hardware was a cornerstone of the product lineup, supporting secure and customizable authentication processes. The accompanying configuration software allowed clients to tailor the device’s screen, menu, language, and functionality to their specific needs, including simulated operation. This level of customization was essential for delivering client-specific solutions that improved both user experience and security.

To support this, a .NET WPF (Windows Presentation Foundation) application was developed using the MVVM (Model-View-ViewModel) architectural pattern. This application provided a robust platform for configuring Digipass hardware, making it highly adaptable to a wide range of client requirements.

The Challenge

One of the significant challenges faced by the company was the continuous influx of development requests from clients, which required frequent updates and enhancements to the software. The configuration software was originally designed as a desktop application for internal use and operated on Windows. A major milestone in the project was successfully transitioning this application to be accessible via web browsers, which significantly expanded its usability and flexibility.
