Introduction

The company in this case study operates in three main areas: auditing, tax and legal consultancy, and advisory services. With approximately 5,000 employees in Hungary and a global workforce of around 270,000, it is a significant player in its industry.

The Story

Our team operated within the tax and legal department, focusing on modernizing the system supporting the tax filing process. Our goal was to transition from the outdated on-premise application to a cloud-based environment while phasing out the old system. In addition to supporting tax and legal processes, our objective was to enhance user experience and customization options for clients.

Methodology: C#, .NET 7, Blazor, MS Azure, MS-SQL, Agile (Scrum)

The Challenge

One of the main challenges we faced was the continuous evolution of the project scope, along with the integration of various components. To address these challenges, we implemented proper estimation techniques for individual user stories to ensure management's understanding of the scale and time requirements of each development task. Additionally, we conducted workshops to clarify the integration requirements with different components.

The Results

Overall, the project was successful. The client received a more flexible and user-friendly application, and the groundwork was laid for selling the product to multiple clients. This project enabled the company to advance in providing innovative solutions to its clients, enhancing its competitiveness in the market.
